[25.06.20] PRESS RELEASE
STACK NEWCASTLE ANNOUNCES RE-OPENING DATE…
NEWCASTLE’s most innovative food and entertainment venue is to launch its booking system ahead of its planned full re-opening.
STACK at Pilgrim Street will be welcoming customers from Monday 6 July, despite the Government allowing the hospitality industry to open up again two days earlier. But Danieli Holdings, which runs STACK, has decided against opening on the first available day.
“As responsible operators the health and safety of our customers and our staff has to be the highest priority,” said Neill Winch, CEO.
“We are taking our time to ensure that our staff understand and adapt to the new operating procedures and we are using those days to bring them totally up to speed, ahead of our opening on 6 July.”
“Our retailers have been open since 15 June and we hope that when customers start to return, they’ll also continue to give them their support.”
While live entertainment at the venue will be on hold at the moment, the food operators will once again open their doors, with bookings for tables about to be offered to STACK’s existing email database first.
Anyone who signs up for the STACK newsletter at www.stacknewcastle.com or on the STACK Facebook page, will not only get the first opportunity to book but will also be able to take advantage of future announcements about the site.
As an added incentive, one lucky person will be picked at random from the database to be the first booking on Monday 6 July at 12noon, they will be given a table for six people and will also receive a complimentary first drink and a food voucher each.
Advance bookings are being recommended as there will be little capacity to accommodate anyone who just turns up, unless there is some availability which is thought to be unlikely – particularly at weekends.
Bookings timings will be staggered to limit queues outside of the venue and an app is being launched which will allow customers to both order and pay and then receive table service.
“It was great that the retail businesses were able to start opening from 15 June and we are now very excited to reopen the full site and to let people return to STACK,” said Neil Winch.
“We have been working for some time on putting in place extensive measures which means that visitors can once again enjoy the STACK experience but in a safe environment.”
Operations Director, Kevin Walker added, “We have developed a STACK re-opening playbook document which outlines all the measures we will be putting in place to ensure the safety of our staff, customers, traders and suppliers.”
“This will be available to view online, along with the venue’s risk assessments once the bookings go live. We hope that the playbook will provide some reassurance to our customers that we have followed the Government guidelines and we are doing everything we possibly can to minimise the risk of infection.”
Although STACK is primarily an outdoor venue, extra safety measure are being put in place which include; Perspex screens at all of the bars and food counters, automatic hand sanitiser stations at entry and exit points, and the introduction of one-way systems and directional signage to guide customers safely around the site.
COVID Marshalls will also provide help and guidance to customers and ensure social distancing is being practised.
